  21. Well, then, *what* could I have done wrong? I _have_ configured Vmem as 
  22. described on pages 2.13-2.15:
  23. - I have the path set to a HD volume named Misc: (which has about 70MB free) 
  24. - Disk Buffer size to 250KB and Maximum Ram to 3 MB, which is _definitely_
  25.   less than half of the free memory, even after loading ImageFX  (that was the 
  26.   *only* precise requirement told in the manual!)
  27. - Vmem Authorization selector set either to 'Use VMEM when needed' or to 
  28.   'Always use VMEM' (no difference between them in my case).  
  29.  
  30. Is there something else? At least the manual does not tell more... BTW, the
  31. virtual memory system itself *is* working, as I can see with smaller buffers 
  32. which are swapped to and from the hard disk. I just cannot load a buffer which 
  33. is larger than the free RAM... Are you absolutely sure that should be possible?

  35. It now occurred to me, could this all be due to CuberVision64(2MB)? As I have 
  36. reported here earlier, it does not work properly with ImageFx in my machine, 
  37. that is, rendered images cannot be saved, either a crash or just garbage is 
  38. the result of such attempts (the native ECS modes work ok, but any CV-specific 
  39. mode has this problem). So far no one has been able to told me what is causing
  40. this problem... :-(
